The VIX Protection Women's Comfort Pro Cut-Resistant Base Layer delivers elite ski racing protection without the bulky feel of traditional protective gear. Engineered for competitive alpine racers, this FIS 5-star certified protective layer combines exceptional cut resistance with the soft, flexible comfort of everyday thermal underwear. Its innovative fabric integrates steel wire into every knit loop, surrounded by high-strength protective fibers and a soft outer layer that feels comfortable against the skin. Unlike bulky protective pads, the protection is built directly into the fabric, allowing natural movement while providing an added barrier against sharp ski edges. Designed to double as a warm base layer, the Comfort Pro keeps racers comfortable and protected through training sessions and race days, with the official FIS certification label included.
The Comfort Pro meets the highest rating under the FIS-DITF 2021 cut-resistance standard. Its protective fabric has withstood 500 newtons of cutting force in every tested direction, earning the maximum 5-star classification. An official FIS conformity label is included on the garment for race inspection.
Unlike protective garments that rely on separate sewn-in panels, VIX incorporates steel wire directly into every loop of its protective knit. This construction distributes cut resistance throughout the covered fabric while maintaining the flexibility of a traditional base layer.
Each yarn combines a steel core, high-strength body armor fibers, and a soft outer exterior. The steel core helps resist sharp ski edges, while the surrounding protective fibers reinforce the structure. Soft outer fibers provide a comfortable surface against the skin.
Cut resistance is built directly into the knitted material rather than added through separate protective pads. The result is a flexible, low-profile layer designed to move naturally beneath a ski racing suit.
VIX uses an integrated protective knit to create a barrier between sharp ski edges and the skin. The manufacturer's demonstrations show how the fabric is constructed and how it responds to cutting forces.
The protective steel wire is knitted directly into the fabric. Rather than relying on rigid panels, the construction follows the natural stretch and movement of the base layer.
At the center is a steel core surrounded by high-strength protective fibers. Soft exterior fibers create the comfortable surface that rests against the skin.

Designed to feel like everyday thermal underwear, the Comfort Pro combines soft fabric with integrated protection. Its close-to-skin fit helps reduce bulk beneath a race suit.
The cut-resistant knit extends throughout the areas covered by the garment rather than being limited to selected protective panels. Coverage extends from the hips to the top of the ski boots when properly worn.
The knitted fabric allows natural movement through an aggressive racing stance, helping skiers maintain mobility during training and competition.
In addition to cut resistance, the Comfort Pro functions as a warm base layer beneath a race suit, reducing the need for a separate layer of conventional thermal underwear.
The garment includes its official FIS conformity label on the lower left leg. The label identifies the certified protection rating and should remain attached and visible for race equipment inspections.

Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the measuring tape comfortably snug.
Inseam: Measure from the crotch down the inside of your leg toward the ankle.
Height: Use your height alongside your waist measurement to determine the best size.
Fit Tip: VIX protective base layers are designed to fit close to the skin beneath a ski racing suit. Choose a size that provides secure coverage without unnecessary looseness.
Hand wash or machine wash at 30°C (86°F) or cooler according to the garment care label. Air-dry at room temperature. Do not tumble dry. Use a cool iron only, without steam. Inspect the fabric before each race day for cuts, snags, thinning, or other damage.
Cut-Resistant, Not Cut-Proof: VIX Comfort Pro is designed to reduce the risk of ski-edge lacerations, but no protective fabric can eliminate the risk of cuts or injury. The garment does not provide impact protection and does not protect areas of the body it does not cover.
Inspect Before Use: Check for cuts, snags, tears, or worn areas before every race day. Replace the garment if it has been damaged by a ski edge or shows visible wear.
FIS Certification Label: Do not remove, alter, or cover the conformity label on the lower left leg.
