The The North Face Men’s Chakal Jacket is a warm, do-it-all ski and snowboard jacket built for cold days when you want to spend more time making turns and less time thinking about the weather. A seam-sealed DRYVENT™ 2L shell blocks wind and wet snow while remaining breathable, and HEATSEEKER™ Advanced synthetic insulation provides plenty of warmth without excessive bulk. When the laps start heating up, underarm vents make it easy to dump excess heat and keep charging. Mountain-ready details include a removable helmet-compatible hood, snap-down powder skirt, wrist gaiters with thumbholes, and plenty of secure storage, including a pass pocket with an integrated goggle wipe. With 80g insulation through the body, a comfortable regular fit, and recycled materials throughout much of the construction, the Chakal is a dependable men’s insulated ski and snowboard jacket ready for everything from frigid first chairs to snowy last runs.
Versatile DRYVENT™ 2-layer technology provides waterproof, wind-blocking, and breathable protection for changing mountain weather. The seam-sealed shell is finished with a non-PFC durable water-repellent treatment to help keep moisture outside.
HEATSEEKER™ Advanced synthetic insulation uses a dual-fiber construction that provides a high warmth-to-weight ratio, packability, and durability. The Chakal uses 80 g insulation through the body and 60 g through the hood, collar, and sleeves.
Built-in underarm venting lets you quickly release excess heat when temperatures rise or you’re working hard, making it easier to regulate your temperature throughout a full day on the mountain.
The fully adjustable hood is designed to fit over a ski or snowboard helmet and can be completely removed when you want a cleaner, lower-profile setup.
A snap-down powder skirt with gripper elastic helps seal out snow when the conditions get deep, while the jacket-to-pant integration clip adds another connection point for storm-day protection.
Integrated stretch-knit wrist gaiters with thumbholes extend coverage around the hands and wrists, helping close the gap between jacket sleeves and gloves to keep out cold air and snow.
Two zippered chest pockets, covered secure-zip hand pockets, an internal secure-zip chest pocket, and a large internal mesh drop-in pocket provide plenty of room for everyday mountain essentials.
A covered secure-zip wrist pocket keeps your mountain pass easy to access and includes an integrated goggle wipe for quickly clearing lenses between runs.
Embossed hook-and-loop cuff tabs let you adjust the sleeves around gloves, while an internal two-point hem cinch-cord helps secure the lower jacket. The cinch-cord ends conveniently exit into the hand pockets.
The body fabric is made with 94% recycled polyester, while the body and collar linings use 100% recycled polyester. The HEATSEEKER™ Advanced body insulation is made with 80% post-consumer recycled polyester.
