The HEAD Protector+ Freeflex 14 GW Ski Bindings bring HEAD’s Full Heel Release technology into a high-performance race platform for expert skiers who demand precision without overlooking protection. The HR PRO heel provides intelligent 180-degree release horizontally and vertically, helping reduce loads on the knee during certain twisting falls, while the VX BTR toe uses Full Diagonal release and advanced kinematics for consistent release behavior under changing forces. Freeflex technology allows the binding to move with the ski as it flexes, preserving a natural flex pattern for powerful, precise turns at speed. With a DIN range of 4–14, a low 22.5mm stand height, and compatibility with adult Alpine and GripWalk boots, the Protector+ Freeflex 14 GW combines race-level control with an innovative release system designed to help reduce injury risk.
Full Heel Release technology provides intelligent 180-degree release both horizontally and vertically in forward and backward twisting fall situations. According to finite element model simulations by the University of Innsbruck, the FHR function can reduce ACL strain by more than 50% in simulated backward twisting falls.
The HR PRO heel brings HEAD’s Full Heel Release technology to a high-performance race binding, combining strong retention and precise power transfer with multidirectional heel release functionality.
Freeflex technology allows the heel of the binding to move backward as the ski flexes, minimizing the binding’s influence on the ski’s natural flex pattern for consistent response and precise control.
Compatible with adult Alpine ski boots meeting ISO 5355 Type A and adult GripWalk ski boots meeting ISO 23223 Type A. No sole-height adjustment is needed between these compatible boot standards.
The Anti-Friction Slider helps provide secure boot release while allowing rapid and precise re-centering of the ski boot for reliable binding performance.
Full Diagonal technology provides intelligent 180-degree release both horizontally and vertically, expanding the directions in which the toe can respond to forces during a fall.
The VX Toe features an updated design paired with BTR kinematics to provide precise retention and consistent release characteristics for demanding, high-performance skiing.
BTR kinematics are designed to maintain consistent release values during backward twisting falls. As vertical load changes, the toe wings can shift to a new hinge point, modifying the lever arm to compensate for increased forces and friction.
The Roller Pincer Toe System uses four rollers to provide 180-degree release and precise re-centering of the ski boot. The system is designed to reduce loads on the knees and ligaments while supporting responsive binding performance.
Developed for high-performance skiing, the Protector+ Freeflex platform brings Full Heel Release technology into HEAD’s racing segment while maintaining the precision, retention, and control needed for fast, aggressive skiing.

Safety Note: Full Heel Release technology is designed to help reduce loads associated with certain twisting falls, but no ski binding can prevent all injuries. The stated ACL strain reduction is based on finite element model simulations by the University of Innsbruck. Ski bindings should be mounted, adjusted, and release-tested by a qualified ski technician.
