Above is a compilied list of edge and base angles as they come from the factory. The ski side and base edge bevel are crucial aspects of ski tuning that influence the performance and maneuverability of the skis on the snow. The edge bevel refers to the angle created on the sides and base of the ski edges during the tuning process. The side edge bevel, measured in degrees, determines the angle of the edge in relation to the ski's base. A larger side edge bevel (e.g., 2 degrees) enhances the ski's ability to initiate turns smoothly. On the other hand, the base edge bevel, determines the angle of the edge in relation to the ski's running surface. A larger base edge bevel (e.g., 1 degree) provides more forgiveness and stability.
